Scholarship Awards
The Connecticut Association of Women Police (CAWP) is pleased to announce that it is offering Scholarship Awards to be used by students to pursue a degree in Criminal Justice. All candidates will be evaluated based on their achievements in relation to the entire pool of applicants. The scholarship will be awarded by June 1, 2010. To be eligible, applicants must meet the following guidelines and criteria:
- Applicants must be graduating from an accredited high school for that calendar year.
- Applicants (male or female) must be applying to a criminal justice program.
- The CAWP Scholarship Application must be completed on (both sides) and returned to CAWP and include the following information:
- High School Transcript
- One letter of recommendation from a teacher or guidance counselor
- A personal essay of 200-250 words telling why the candidate should be selected for this scholarship
- A copy of a completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid Form for the 2008-2009 School Year
- Applications must be postmarked by April 30 of each year and mailed to:

2011 Recipients
Melanie Llantin is one of the two CAWP Scholarship Award recipients this year. Melanie was involved in many activities at Bullard Havens Technical HS, was a member of the National Honor Society, and was dedicated to better not only her life, but those around her. Melanie has overcome a number of challenges throughout her life, such as losing her beloved brother at an early age. Melanie will be attending POST University this Fall, and is excited to pursue a career in Criminal Justice.
