L.O.C.K.U.P.® (Police Combat) programs
As an instructor of “SWAT” and police fighting tactics since 1988, Lieutenant Kevin Dillon developed and teaches his L.O.C.K.U.P. ® Police Combat System. L.O.C.K.U.P.® an acronym for “Law Officers Combat Kinetics, Unarmed Panoply,’ is a comprehensive fighting approach, based on gross motor skill concepts, that actually reduces injuries to citizens and police officers. L.O.C.K.U.P. ® teaches empty-hand maneuvers (Defensive Tactics) that can be deployed effectively during violent physical encounters and adapts the fighting maneuvers to the officer's physical and physiological changes to maximize effectiveness. Lieutenant Dillon educates officers about the instinctual physiological and physical responses of the human nervous systems during combat. The system is consistent with and based upon the legal guidelines governing police use-of-force, appropriate as a system for officers regardless of physical attributes, and the system can be retained and deployed with minimal continuation training. L.O.C.K.U.P.® fully integrates with all other weapon system training.
Lieutenant Dillon has created single and multiple day L.O.C.K.U.P.® (Police Combat) programs. His intensive Train the Trainer course has been adopted as the “Arrest and Control Instructor” credential for Connecticut’s Police Officers Standards and Training Council’s instructor certification. The course is the fundamental qualification for teaching in all basic training and Police Corps Academy programs. The techniques have been proven to be effective on the street.
Lieutenant Dillon has been a practicing martial artist for the past 35 years. He earned a 4th degree Black Belt in Kenpo karate, a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Jui Jitsu, and has studied other systems including Shodokan and Tae Kwon Do. L.O.C.K.U.P.® is a certified “Police Combat System” and Lieutenant Dillon was promoted to 6th degree black belt by the United States Martial Arts Association. Lieutenant Dillon was also inducted into the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame in 2005.
Lieutenant Dillon is also a State of Connecticut “Certified Law Enforcement Instructor” of various firearms systems, impact weapons and less-lethal control devices. He is also a certified instructor in Leadership and Supervision. Lieutenant Dillon believes that combat fighting tactics must be customized to fit the police officer on the street.
Lieutenant Dillon has appeared on national radio talk shows as well as in numerous videos including Sequential Opportunity of Kenpo Karate series; Encyclopedia of Self Defense Video/DVD and has written and released his own video/DVD series called Police Combat Tactics Volumes 1 and 2 based on his L.O.C.K.U.P.® empty hand fighting principals. Police Combat Tactics is selling world wide.
Lieutenant Dillon is also founder and president of KFD Training & Consultation LLC and www.policecombat.com. His company has provided the highest level of professional police, security training and use of force consultation for the past eight years.
